Illiana Garden Pond Society


Start Date: Founded in 1997

Short Description: The IGPS is made up of members called "ponders" who enjoy their backyards, many of which have ponds or water features! The group meets monthly, and meetings feature educational speakers.

General Information:The Illiana Garden Pond Society is made up of members called "ponders" who live in Northwest Indiana and the south suburbs of Chicago. These members enjoy their backyards, and many of them have ponds or water features in their gardens. 

Their meetings incorporate an educational component that usually feature guest speakers, and the group donates to and takes on community projects. 

Meeting are at 10 a.m. on Saturdays from September through May, and at 7 p.m. on Wednesdays from June through August. 

The groups sponsors the annual Waterscape Weekend at the Lake County Fairgrounds in April and a pond walk each summer.

Mission: " A non-profit organization dedicated to pond and water garden education and care to it's members and the public"

: Host the annual "Waterscape Weekend" 
Illiana Garden and Pond Expo 
at the Lake County Fairgrounds, Crown Point, Indiana
(last full weekend of April)
